15-02-2007 News release 07/17 Sudan: ICRC president visits Sudan for third time in two years Khartoum/Geneva (ICRC) – "The ICRC remains committed to the people of Sudan, both to those living through the transition from war to peace in the south, and to communities affected by armed violence and insecurity in Darfur," said the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Jakob Kellenberger, on leaving for his third visit to the country since the Darfur conflict started in 2004. Mr Kellenberger will be in Sudan from today until 21 February, travelling first to the south and then to Darfur.
