This law sets out rules for the civil defence of the city of Buenos Aires. The civil defence is part of the National Defence and aims, by the means of non-aggressive measures or activities, at preventing, redressing or diminushing the effects of war, of natural or other disasters that affect the population or its goods, and at contributing in the reestablishment of a normal rythm of life in the affected city areas. It includes, for instance, provisions on the establishment of adequate shelters and the taking of measures to reduce the vulnerability of the population in case of an enemy attack, provisions on coordination between the armed forces present in the city and the civil defence, and provisions forbiding the misuse of emblems, signs, graphics and cards belonging to the civil defence.
