Philippines: Marawi Operations Update No. 1

Fighting within Marawi City in Lanao del Sur, southern Philippines, is still ongoing, and the humanitarian needs are increasing. The ICRC has stepped up its response to assist thousands of displaced people through relief items and clean water supply, and to support the authorities in addressing the basic healthcare needs of displaced families.

Below is an update of the humanitarian situation and needs based on the assessments of the ICRC teams in Marawi and Iligan cities, and how we have responded so far.
