Mexico and Central America: Practical advice for migrants

Migrants endure great physical and emotional hardship. The ICRC and Red Cross Societies in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador are encouraging migrants to take measures to look after their health and well-being. Whether it's how to seek health care, use emergency phone numbers or stay in touch with family, the aim is to cover some of the scenarios frequently encountered. Materials offering practical advice are displayed and handed out in mobile clinics, assistance posts and other Red Cross projects, as well as through other organizations working with migrants in the region. Communication is aid.

This fits into the wider International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement's approach, which is not to encourage or discourage migration, but to reduce the factors contributing to the vulnerability of the migrant population and to relieve their suffering.
