Our work in the DRC: January-June 2017

Highlights:

414 war-wounded civilians and combatants were operated on by surgical teams deployed or trained by the ICRC.
42,000 people received essential supplies in North and South Kivu.
  42 unaccompanied children were reunited with their families.
 30,000 people benefitted from the repair and renovation of 4 rural water-supply systems.
 25,500 detainees were visited, with more than 2,000 receiving monthly food aid.
4,300 members of the security and armed forces and other weapon bearers attended awareness-raising sessions on international humanitarian law.
199 local Red Cross volunteers were trained in emergency response in 7 provinces.
