Ukraine people

People in eastern Ukraine have seen a marked deterioration in their living conditions, brought on by more than 8 years of armed conflict. Many people have been injured while several have lost their lives. Many remain missing.

Houses, critical water, gas and electricity infrastructures have been destroyed by repeated shelling. In addition, people's ability to move across the line of contact is severely constrained due to difficult situations at the crossing points, where civilians have to wait for many hours, exposed to heat or cold, and the threat of shelling and landmines.

The ICRC is helping to improve the living conditions of the displaced population in Ukraine by providing them assistance.
