Communication Officer - Port Moresby

The Communication Officer is a specialist who contributes to the implementation of public communication programmes under the supervision of the Programme Responsible. The officer should be able to manage projects and work under his or her own initiative. Activities range from the production of communication tools (publications, AV, web content) to maintaining media relations, writing press releases and giving presentations on topics related to the organisation's work.

Tasks

  • Contributes to the implementation and running of communication / information / dissemination / production projects / programmes
  • Maintains contacts with target groups at various levels
  • Maintains, updates and monitors ICRC Facebook page
  • Contributes to written reporting
  • Contributes to the development and production of dissemination tools
  • Translates material between English and Tok Pisin

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 2 years' work experience in a similar field
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Pidgin
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills
  • Excellent computer skills
