Water and Habitat Field Officer (Mount Hagen)

 The ICRC offers interesting and rewarding work in a humanitarian and international environment. Under the supervision of the WatHab Delegate, the WatHab Field Officer contributes to the implementation and running specific Water, Sanitation and Habitat programmes and maintains contact with authorities, the population and the Papua New Guinea Red Cross Society.

Responsibilities

  • ŸSupports in technical field assessments, organisation, implementation/construction, monitoring and reporting of WatHab projects
  • ŸMaintains contacts with interlocutors / authorities at field level (local Red Cross Branches, population, suppliers, etc.)
  • ŸProposes, elaborates and develop some WatHab field activities
  • Executes administrative, office and field technical work related to the project

Requirements

  • ŸA degree or diploma in an Engineering field (construction, water supply, electricity)
  • ŸWork experience in a technical engineering/construction field
  • ŸAdvance Computer Skills(Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • ŸGood command of written and spoken English
  • ŸGood analytical, reporting and interpersonal skills
  • Current driving license
  • Good knowledge of the Highlands area
