Navi Pillay talks about sexual violence and remedies

07-03-2014 Interview

Navi Pillay, High Commissioner on Human Rights, met with women victims of sexual violence when she sat as a judge on the Rwandan tribunal. In this video, she speaks of the importance of truly listening to what these women have to say. For Navi Pillay, prosecutions and condemnations are not sufficient in bringing the women justice. These women should be involved in the proceedings and be invited to speak about what sort of compensation they need.
