Yemen: ICRC aid for Red Crescent
22-07-2005 News Release 05/64
The Yemen Red Crescent ambulance service swung into action on 20 July as protests against fuel-price rises in Sana'a and other cities turned into violent riots, reportedly leaving some 10 people dead.
The protests continued yesterday, resulting in further casualties. The ICRC delegation in Sana'a is providing medical equipment and logistical support for the Red Crescent, which has been taking the wounded to hospitals and giving first aid on the spot.
