ICRC Corporate Support Group: ABB Asea Brown Boveri Ltd

ABB has been a member of the ICRC Corporate Support Group since its inception in 2005 and makes a substantial contribution to the ICRC’s daily operations through knowledge transfer and financial donations. Until 2011, ABB supported the endowment fund of the Foundation for the ICRC, interest from which helps finance the training of ICRC staff. Since 2012, the company has been supporting ICRC water projects.

Highlights

  • Lebanon. The ICRC's engineers assess needs and coordinate the work of the various enterprises repairing damaged reservoirs and pipes. ABB helps to train Red Cross engineers

    As part of a long-standing sponsorship agreement with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), ABB engineers have helped in the training of ICRC engineers. Their training work was described as very successful, and highly motivating for those who took part.

  • ABB signs six-year agreement with the ICRC

    ABB has renewed a six-year agreement to support the ICRC - the company’s largest corporate sponsorship. Under the agreement, ABB will contribute financially to the ICRC’s Water and Habitat program, which supports people in water-stressed areas and countries, and provides emergency accommodation to people caught up in zones of conflict.
