Nepal: Helping and protecting victims of conflict since 1961
28-01-2014 Photo gallery
During the 1996-2006 conflict between Nepalese security forces and Maoist insurgents the ICRC served as a neutral intermediary, helping civilians and visiting detainees. Since 2006, we have been busy tracing missing persons and addressing the consequences of the conflict. A photo exhibition will open in Nepalgunj (western Nepal) on 29 January, to mark the 150th anniversary of the ICRC’s founding and look back at our work in Nepal. The exhibition opened in Kathmandu in December 2013 and will tour the country during 2014.
