Syria: Humanitarian assistance desperately needed in Madaya, Zabadani, Foua and Kefraya

The people of Syria are on their knees. The economy has collapsed, essential infrastructure like water and power networks are hanging by a thread, and on top of that a very cold winter is bearing down. 12 million people inside Syria are in dire need of help.

The priority of the ICRC and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent is to bring assistance to 400,000 people living in besieged areas, such as Madaya, Zabadani, Foua and Kefraya.

 When we last managed to go to Madaya in October we saw despair, we saw hunger in the eyes of the people. We saw mothers not able to breastfeed their newborn babies.
