Botswana Defence Force Act No.13, 1977 (as of 2006)

The Act establishes the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) and regulates various aspects of the BDF including the administration of the Force, recruitment, discipline, conditions of service, training and command. In particular, Part VI deals with Enlistment and Termination of Service in the Regular Force; and Part VII is related to Discipline and Trial and Punishment of Military Offences. Section 17(2) establishes a prohibition of enlisting persons below the age of 18.
