Earthquake deepening a humanitarian emergency
People in Afghanistan are facing a devastating reality. In just a week's time, three 6.3 magnitude quakes rocked Herat province and its surroundings.
More than 2,400 people are reported killed or injured, though this toll is expected to rise as rescue operations continue. In the hit hardest areas, some villages have likely been completely destroyed, with homes reduced to rubble, hospitals overwhelmed and families desperately looking for their loved ones.
