The Digital Carpet appeal for COVID-19
Robert Mardini, Director General of the ICRC
"At this time of global crisis, the values of solidarity, compassion and humanity are more important than ever. To the organisers and participants in the Digital Carpet, a heartfelt thank you on behalf of the entire ICRC. Your generosity will go a long way to helping some of the neediest people on the planet: those affected by armed conflict and violence, for whom COVID-19 is yet another deadly threat."
COVID-19 is affecting all of us in different ways, and never before has it been more important to come together to support those at risk.
For men, women and children in war-torn countries, the impact of an outbreak of the virus could be catastrophic. Millions of people are living in daily fear for their lives, in areas where the health system and other vital infrastructure is already under extreme pressure from years of war. They desperately need our help.
Our teams rely on your support to continue our work to help those in need. We are fighting to prevent the spread of this disease by supporting health care centers and hospitals with essential medicine and medical supplies, by distributing hygiene kits with soap and by improving access to clean water in areas affected by violence.
Your donation can help step up our response. Please donate today.
