Please support the protection work of ICRC

Amid the chaos and despair of conflict, the ICRC is a beacon of hope to those whose lives have been shattered by war. For over 160 years, we have been fulfilling our unique mandate to protect the lives and dignity of victims of conflict and other violence, regardless of race, gender, politics or religion.

Because of our neutrality, we can go where many others cannot – saving lives in the most inaccessible and dangerous of war zones. As a neutral intermediary we carry out activities for the benefit of protected persons, such as medical evacuations across front lines, detainee releases and the exchange of human remains. We reunite families who've become separated in the chaos of war. As the guardian of international humanitarian law, we aim to prevent suffering too – reminding all parties to a conflict that even wars have rules.

Your support ensures that the ICRC can carry out its protection activities in conflict zones.

"What matters is not only the good the ICRC brings but the evil it prevents." – Nelson Mandela
