In Somalia, the ICRC works with the Somali Red Crescent Society to help the victims of conflict and natural disaster.

Severe drought has led to food insecurity in many areas of the country, making life almost impossible, and placing women and children in danger. We provide emergency assistance, boost self-reliance, promote, and monitor international humanitarian law, visit detainees and restore contact between family members separated by conflict. The ongoing conflict is tearing villages and families apart, putting them in the most dangerous situations.
