PURPOSE
The Intern supports the Translation Department of the ICRC Regional Delegation for East Asia, primarily by contributing to translation projects.
SCOPE
- Carry out translation, revision, proofreading tasks for the delegation between Chinese and English on a wide variety of documents: publications, News Releases, blog articles etc.
- Take on interpretation task if qualified.
- Carry out editorial assistance tasks such as filing, formatting, footnotes processing, foreign name/location names checking etc.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Head of the Unit.
REQUIREMENTS
- Postgraduate students from law schools are preferred; major in international law, especially international humanitarian law is a plus.
- Fluent in English speaking and writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proactive communication.
WORKING HOURS
- Up to 5 days per week, exact number of days is flexible.
- Remote working is also acceptable.
GENERAL DUTIES

- Understand the roles of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

- Perform all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC.
- May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.
