The Asset Management Accountant shall be responsible for recording the cost of newly-acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets.

This individual is responsible for accounting for leases, right of use assets and related liabilities.

Main responsibilities

  • Prepares and posts accounting entries in the accounting software on a regular basis
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of accounting transactions in accordance with financial procedures
  • Helps ensure that operations run smoothly through efficient cash-flow management, covering the fund needs of the delegation/structure
  • Keeps files up-to-date at all times and guarantees proper filing of relevant supporting documents for future reference, including audits
  • Performs regular integrity checks of accounting entries and account balances  
  • Participates in monthly closing activities and is responsible for part of them
  • Provides support to other departments and responds to semi-routine and non-standard inquiries when necessary
  • Gives guidance to Accountant 1
  • Identifies anomalies or other issues and proposes solutions to his/her supervisor

As Asset and Lease Management Analyst in the FAD_FSS FinOps Unit:

  • Contribute to monthly and year-end closing process for the Asset and Lease Management module
  • Record asset (vehicles and generators) in AM module in comparison with LOG Fleet monthly list, buffer accounts and PeopleSoft extract entries
  • Record asset (intangibles and building) upon completion of the project
  • Review Work in Progress accounts generated in PeopleSoft, Invoices Dashboard and JDE
  • Perform and document controls as described in the closing checklist on a monthly basis
  • Investigate the discrepancy between Asset Management and General Ledger
  • Reconcile and analyse the buffer accounts
  • Prepare lease related adjustments: reversing rental expense, capitalization and depreciation of leased assets, set up and amortization of lease liability
  • Prepare an adjustment and monthly reconciliation report for self-insurance cases 
  • Review other account items if they should be capitalized, retired or expensed
  • Prepare various adjustment: ventilation of buffer accounts, correction of cost centre, chargenet book value of donated asset to appropriate objective code and cost centre  
  • Compare authorization of expenditure summary details per month against excel file sent to the delegations and submit findings to FAD_FPA
  • Compare the delegation’s annual fixed asset inventory against FSHQ tables, analyse the variance report and send feedback if there are any
  • Collect lease information and review for accuracy
  • Implement and ensure respect of financial procedures and guidelines
  • Maintain a proper filing system (both electronic and hard copy)
  • Protect organization's value by keeping all information confidential
  • Suggest or pro-actively identify necessary process improvements

Selection requirements

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License
  • Working experience as Lease/Asset Management Accountant a strong advantage
  • Working knowledge in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Word), and understanding of enterprise resource planning (ERP) integrated systems (JD Edwards, Peoplesoft)
  • Advanced level in Microsoft Excel, Using SQL, and BI Tableau is an advantage
  • Fluent command of spoken and written English
  • 3-5 years' work experience in a similar field
  • Experience of international organizations an asset
  • Sound knowledge of accounting software
  • Amenability to work onsite in Makati City
