Greece: Enhancing the collaborative approach in the provision of Restoring Family Links services
The partnership between the Hellenic Red Cross (HRC) and the ICRC on the provision of RFL services in Greece counts many years. There were many achievements that resulted from this cooperation and some challenges that needed to be overcome.
In view of the planning exercise for 2022, the two Movement partners held an in-person workshop in order to discuss past challenges and successes and future opportunities. The workshop took place from 14 - 16 September 2021 and it was co-organized by the ICRC and the Hellenic Red Cross Tracing & RFL Division.
Over these three days, the participants benefitted from the close support of the Central Tracing Agency (CTA), which allowed them to get first hand updates on the RFL Movement Strategy, RFL in emergencies – including the participation of the IFRC Head of Delegation, and the latest in the CTA Digitalization efforts.
This workshop provided a safe space for the two teams to reflect on the challenges and successes of our past cooperation, to identify the opportunities that arise when we work together and to exchange on the priorities for the next period. They also focused on the way forward with pragmatic work done on the working procedures as well as the plan of action for 2022.
The collaborative and participatory spirit of the workshop has been an important and needed step in the collaboration between the two institutions.
