The ICRC in Papua New Guinea

Article 28 February 2023 Papua New Guinea

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Papua New Guinea works with communities impacted by tribal fighting.

We have been working alongside the Papua New Guinea Red Cross Society in the Highlands since 2012, particularly in Hela, Enga and the Southern Highlands provinces. Here, we respond to the humanitarian consequences of  violence in the Highlands, working with communities on a range of activities like health training, rebuilding infrastructure and promoting humanitarian messages such as the protection of those who are not part of a fight.

We also support the families of missing persons in Bougainville.

The ICRC has three offices, located in Mount Hagen, Buka and Port Moresby.
