Intensifying violence in north-east Nigeria has led to a deterioration in the humanitarian situation. Thousands of people have fled to other parts of Nigeria and into neighbouring countries. Others need urgent medical treatment for their injuries. The ICRC is distributing emergency aid and treating the sick and wounded. But access to certain areas remains difficult and the needs are enormous, so the ICRC has to focus on helping the most vulnerable people.
