In 2015, the ICRC continued to help hundreds of thousands of people in need of food, medical, and economic aid in Sudan.

We provided aid in the form of seeds and equipment, access to safe drinking water, medical treatment and supplies, and structural renovations. We also provided thousands of essential household items and emergency aid while working tirelessly to reconnect families separated during conflict.

Highlights of our work in Sudan in 2015

258,400 people benefited from seeds and tools distribution
109,600 people benefited from access to safe drinking water
16,000 were admitted for treatment in ICRC-supported hospitals
2,900 people with disabilities received support from orthopaedic centres
1,460 metric tons of food, medical and non-food items transported to destinations in Sudan
Facilitated the handover of 18 released persons detained by armed opposition groups
