Tanzania: Helping families who have fled from DR Congo stay in touch

06 November 2014

The ICRC together with Tanzania Red Cross Society has been reuniting families in Tanzania since 1993. Currently, the ICRC and TRCS are facilitating the sending of Red Cross messages and use of a phone call service for refugees in Nyarugusu Refugee Camp. Nyarugusu Refugee Camp hosts more than 66,000 refugees, the majority of whom are from the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (South Kivu), which has been severely affected by conflict. The camp is located in the western province of Kigoma, Tanzania.
