Côte d'Ivoire

The ICRC has been working in Côte d'Ivoire since 1989. Our regional delegation there is attuned to the needs of people affected by armed violence and provides humanitarian aid accordingly.

Our work in Côte d'Ivoire

The ICRC’s regional delegation in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, covers activities in Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Ghana, Togo and Benin.

We strive to meet the needs of people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence in the region, paying particular attention to the living conditions of refugees and people deprived of their freedom. We also work to protect family links and promote humanitarian law and principles.

Since February 2022, Côte d'Ivoire, Togo, Ghana and Benin have taken in people fleeing the effects of the crisis in Burkina Faso. The ICRC works with the relevant National Societies to provide assistance to vulnerable people affected by these events.
