The ICRC has been active in Kazakhstan since 2019. Until then, the country was covered by the regional delegation for Central Asia in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Our main areas of activity are engagement with Kazakhstan’s armed and security forces and academic circles on the integration and promotion of international humanitarian law, and cooperation with the Kazakh Red Crescent Society on emergency preparedness and restoring family links.
We team up with the Kazakh Red Crescent Society on emergency preparedness, capacity-building for its staff, restoring family links and first aid. The National Society also supports the national authorities in their response to natural and man-made disasters and provides assistance to vulnerable people.
