Commonwealth of Independent States: Ratification and implementation of international humanitarian law treaties

This report, by the ICRC's advisory service on IHL, summarizes IHL treaty ratification by CIS Member States, domestic implementation of IHL and internal mechanisms to assist national authorities in the implementation process. It also includes a list of model laws and recommendations on IHL adopted by the Inter Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States. This document is intended to support national authorities and national IHL commissions as they deal with IHL-related issues and the information in the report is also accessible via the ICRC's National Implementation Database.
