Humanitarian endeavour and armed conflict: contemporary challenges

This report is the fruit of cooperation between the ICRC and the ISS aimed at developing mutually beneficial cooperation between the ICRC, the EU and others involved in humanitarian issues.
The seminar, held in June 2010,.looked at humanitarian action in armed conflict. It formed an important element in the run-up to the annual ISS conference the same year, on the topic of civil society in global governance. Rapporteur Francoise Bouchet Saulnier presented the conclusions of the seminar at the Institute's annual conference in October 2010.
The event was financed by the ICRC and organized jointly with the ISS. It is to be followed by a number of similar joint initiatives.
