Assessment of ICRC’s evaluation function: Final report

Report 20 September 2019

The ICRC commissioned this assessment in 2019 to analyse the capacity and capability of the organisation to implement evaluations. The assessment looked at the practice and culture of evaluation, and the extent to which this is embedded across the ICRC. Importantly, the assessment made recommendations to strengthen evaluation at the ICRC.

This included re-establishing a centralised evaluation function (i.e team) to drive forward a renewed focus on evaluation, which can coordinate the necessary knowledge sharing, technical advice, and management information to track the implementation of evaluation practice and investments.
