Colombia: five decades of war and a chance of peace

Christoph Harnisch, head of the ICRC's delegation in Colombia, talks about the historical significance of the current situation in the country.

There is hope that a peace agreement may bring an end to the long-running conflict. Yet at the same time, the population continues to suffer disappearances, deaths, threats, sexual violence and weapon contamination. During 2014, the ICRC was able to help more than 230,000 Colombians towards a better future.
