Operational Update – ICRC operations across the Lachin Corridor
The ICRC this month restocked its warehouse with 5,000 food and hygiene parcels transported through the Lachin Corridor which will be distributed to people in need.
This is in addition to the 3,500 food and hygiene parcels the ICRC has distributed this year to a physical rehabilitation center, an institution for destitute elderly people, a center supporting children and pregnant women, and health facilities, which also received medicine and baby formula.
The ICRC has transported 196 patients through the Lachin Corridor since mid-December, carrying out more than 30 medical evacuations in its role as neutral humanitarian intermediary and in agreement with the sides.
In order to reunite separated families, the ICRC has also facilitated the transfer 422 people across the Lachin Corridor since early January, in agreement with the sides and based on the wishes of the concerned family members.
Present in the South Caucasus since 1992, the ICRC stands ready to act as a neutral intermediary and assist in addressing humanitarian issues.
