Semenovka in eastern Ukraine was hit particularly hard by fighting in 2014. Local people have set up a reconstruction committee, pooling meagre resources to repair their homes as best they can.
As the weather gets steadily colder, the ICRC is supporting this self-help initiative by supplying the materials needed to repair and insulate roofs and windows.
Among other materials, we've supplied 20,000 square metres of glazing, 40,000 square metres of roofing materials and 30,000 square metres of waterproof material for the city of Sloviansk, of which Semenovka is a suburb.
