Yemen’s historical beekeeping industry, a vital livelihood for around 100,000 households, faces severe threats from conflict and climate change. Honey production has declined by 20–25% in hotter regions and over 50% nationally due to conflict, with bee colony populations dropping by 10–15%.
This case study summarizes efforts to support Yemeni beekeepers through the ICRC’s Integrated Beekeeping Project, which aims to enhance climate resilience, diversify incomes, and sustain livelihoods.
