The Data Assurance and Reporting Officer supports and enhances data management processes, and develops and maintains data visualization tools within the métier to enable evidence-based decisions and improvements in data entry, data quality, support, and analytics.

General duties

  • May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.

Accountabilities and responsibilities

Support to assurance reporting

  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders on ERCO-related institutional reporting requirements.
  • Supports annual institutional assurance activities (e.g., entity-wide control self-assessments, assurance maps, major institutional risk and field risk assessments).
  • Collects management responses to external audit recommendations and follows up on remediation action plans.
  • Assists in developing ad hoc reports and presentations for governing bodies, donors, and other stakeholders.

Data management and visualization

  • Develops and maintains interactive dashboards and reporting tools, engaging with users to refine needs.
  • Supports and enhances the compliance data repository/system ensuring smooth data flow and continuity across assurance systems and applications, leveraging on existing ICRC tools such as Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Monitors, consolidates, and cleans data; improves data quality processes and tools, including automation of data quality controls.
  • Provides analytical support to ERCO, including performance metrics, reporting improvements, and optimization.
  • Contributes to the development of the data model and usage of the referential data that supports analysis.
  • Applies best practices, standards, guidelines and templates for data management and analytics, and works on continuous improvement;
  • Actively engages in ICRC data-management communities to stay current with emerging practices and tools.

Selection requirements

  • University degree/similar degree in IT
  • Excellent command of English. Knowledge of French and German is an asset;
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office suite or similar);
  • Proven understanding of BI tools (Tableau);
  • Proficient understanding of SQL syntax and relational databases;
  • Proficient in development of BI tools (Power BI); Proficient in development of MS365 Power App Applications and Power Automate
  • Programming language (R or python an asset);
  • Typically 6 – 9 years’ overall professional experience;
  • Confirmed experience in a similar field (4 years), including 2 years in large international organizations;
  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to align diverse stakeholder interests and drive projects forward
