The Bougainville Art Project was launched in 2012 by the Papua New Guinea Red Cross, the University of Papua New Guinea and the ICRC. The project gave ordinary people the opportunity to creatively express their memories and experiences of the armed conflict that devastated Bougainville between 1988 and 2001, and articulate their hopes and concerns for the future. This leaflet, "Images of the Crisis" contains a selection of the remarkable illustrations created during the project.
