During the one-on-one session, Mrs. Marie Otaegui, Asia Sourcing Manager of the ICRC, explains the ICRC’s procurement policy to suppliers.

At the invitation of China Association for Promoting UN Procurement and China Foreign Trade Centre, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Delegation for East Asia attended the 122nd China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair). This is ICRC's first ever attendance at this event. ICRC hopes its attendance would help Chinese suppliers understand more about the ICRC's procurement needs in China as well as its procurement policies and procedures. Mrs. Marie Otaegui, Asia Sourcing Manager of the ICRC, was invited to make a presentation at Canton Fair Forum. During the Fair, Mr. Pierre Dorbes, head of ICRC Regional Delegation for East Asia, and Mrs. Marie Otaegui had an interview with Xinhua News Agency.

Canton Fair was established in 1957. Co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of PRC and the provincial government of Guangdong and organized by China Foreign Trade Centre, it is held every spring and autumn in Guangzhou, China. Canton Fair is a comprehensive international trading event with the longest history, the largest scale, the most complete exhibit variety, the largest buyer attendance, the broadest distribution of buyers' source country and the greatest business turnover in China.
