Our work in China

We focus on creating an understanding of the ICRC’s humanitarian efforts and emergency response around the world through regular dialogue with authorities, think tanks and academic institutions in the region.

We also work to increase awareness of and respect for international humanitarian law (IHL), which is the legal framework that seeks to minimize human suffering caused by war. The regional delegation also engages with the military and police and the National Societies in the region, advocates for global and public health, and serves as one of the ICRC’s largest procurement hubs worldwide.

Other regions we support: Our delegation in China supports the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea and Mongolia.
