Malaysia: 19th national IHL moot court competition 2022

Since 2004, the ICRC Kuala Lumpur has been partnering with a local university to organize an International Humanitarian Law moot court competition where students argue to prosecute or defend a fictional war criminal charged before the International Criminal Court.

Co-organized by the ICRC and International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), the National IHL Moot Court Competition this year, expects the participation of law students from public and private universities. In its 19th edition, the competition will take place from 19 to 20 November 2022 at Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL), IIUM.

The winning team proceeds to compete in the 2023 Regional International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition to be held in Hong Kong.

Important dates

• Call for registration and release of moot problem: 01 September 2022
• Deadline for registration : 5 October 2022
• Deadline for submission of memorials: 24 October 2022
• Moot Court Competition : 19-20 November 2022

Note: As the Competition will be held face to face this year, the Rules is significantly different from the 2020 and 2021 editions. PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY.
