This is the only community enabling direct online exchanges among national committees and similar entities on international humanitarian law (IHL) at the universal level. It works on a secured access and aims at facilitating peer-to-peer exchanges among national committees and similar entities on IHL.
The creation of this community follows the repeated request from representatives of many national committees and similar entities on IHL, strongly reiterated during their Universal Meeting in 2016, for a digital tool to facilitate peer-to-peer exchanges among them.
1 - Get started
You will find information on how you can use the Community: guidelines, disclaimer, tips on how to post, technical questions, and more (see link below).
2 - Exchange about national IHL committees
You will be able to voluntarily upload information, for example about your mandate, working modalities, legal basis, action plans, programmes, contacts, etc. and to find information about others.
3 - Discuss IHL
You will be able to voluntarily create discussions and respond to other committees’ questions on substantive aspects, such as in-progress national legislation or specific IHL topics, and to find important documentation on IHL (factsheets, ICRC challenges reports, etc.).
4 - Organize and talk about events and trainings
You will be able to voluntarily upload information, create discussions, and ask questions about events related to IHL that you are organizing or are interested in.
If you are a member of a national committee willing to join this community, please contact the ICRC Advisory Service on IHL: GVA_advisoryservice@icrc.org
