Pocket Card on the Protection of the Separated, Missing and Dead: From the Perspective of Islamic Law

This document provides the Islamic law perspective to a concise set of international humanitarian law (IHL) rules that weapon bearers must respect and should integrate into their operational guidance as a minimum standard. These rules are not an exhaustive list of the IHL nor Islamic law rules. This document shows that the protections included in this set of IHL rules are also grounded in other legal systems such as Islamic law, so that these values and rules may be leveraged to alleviate suffering in armed conflict.
