The Economic Security Generalist plans, implements and monitors the Economic Security (EcoSec) programmes according to the country strategy with supervision and guidance from the technical and line managers. As part of the Economic Security team, he/she is expected to collaborate with his/her peers and to contribute to the data collection, data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies the response options based on analysis of the Economic Security (EcoSec) core components (food consumption, living conditions, food production, income support and capacity building)
  • Contributes to designing and implementing relief interventions (food, NFI, multipurpose cash grants), food production support interventions (support to agriculture, fisheries, etc.); income support interventions (cash for work, productive grants and micro-economic initiatives)
  • Carries out on-site assistance distributions; provides training and guidance to the PRC volunteers on EcoSec-related activities

Required profile

  • University degree in Economics, Development Studies, Agriculture or Veterinary Science
  • Experience in the implementation of economic security-related programs
  • Previous working experience with the ICRC and/or the Movement
  • Knowledge of the ZamBaSulTa region
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, Tagalog, Bisaya; Fluency in Tausug and Yakan an advantage
