Call for entries for the 2025 Humanitarian Visa d’Or award

From 17 March to 8 June 2025, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is inviting all professional photojournalists to submit their entries for our Humanitarian Visa d’Or award. For the 15th edition, the theme is “Civilians, the primary victims of armed conflicts”.
Since its inception in 2011, the Humanitarian Visa d’Or has been highlighting both the human cost of armed conflicts and the work that photojournalists are doing to give victims a voice.
The award is part of the prestigious international photojournalism festival Visa pour l'image, which has been held every year in Perpignan in France since 1989. The winner will receive an award of 8,000 euros to help finance future photographic projects.
The deadline for applications is 8 June 2025.

Last year, the jury rewarded the British photographer Hugh Kinsella Cunningham for his poignant work on the plight of civilians caught up in the conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
