Between 2012 and 2015, the ICRC undertook major consultation processes on how to strengthen legal protection for victims of armed conflict. This involved looking at detention in non-international armed conflict and how to strengthen compliance with international humanitarian law. The way forward for these initiatives is to be determined by resolutions proposed to be adopted at the upcoming 32nd International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent. Drafts of the resolutions were made available and feedback sought from members of the International Conference. Based on the feedback received, the official drafts for negotiation at the Conference have been circulated and are available on the International Conference website.
