The Data and Reporting Analyst will be a member of the Analytics and Reporting team under the Data Governance and Analytics Office. S/he will play a pivotal role in developing tools for data-driven decision making, which will improve the transparency over and effectiveness of our humanitarian programs.

Accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Produces dashboards and reports in close collaboration with data owners, process leaders, Resource Mobilization teams, and field teams to support data-driven decision-making, operational efficiency, and cohesive institutional/donor reporting.
  • Develops and maintains dashboards throughout its lifecycle (requirements gathering, wireframing, development, testing and data validation, deployment, maintenance and debugging) and engages with key users and stakeholders for further enhancements and user-support needed.
  • Contributes to streamlining and automation initiatives, standards, reference guidelines, and knowledge management documentation for data analytics, and works on their continuous improvement.
  • Monitors, tests, and enriches the portfolio of data sources to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data products, in alignment with data governance and industry best practices.
  • Supports corrective actions for data quality issues and contributes to the improvement of these processes through regular reviews and engagement with the field teams, data owners, and data engineers.

Selection requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (statistics, mathematics, finance, economics, engineering, or similar technical field) or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of practical, hands-on experience in implementing data science, analytics, data management, or business intelligence projects.
  • At least 1 year of experience using data visualization tools, such as Tableau, PowerBI, Google Data Studio, or others.
  • Experience in SQL and manipulating large data sets in a database preferred but not required.
  • Experience in statistical modeling and analyzing large data sets using statistical software, such as SAS, SPSS, R, Python, or others, preferred but not required.

  • Ability to analyze and ensure the accuracy of complex, technical, qualitative, and quantitative information and to be able to communicate this to various stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. 
  • Ability to develop data products based on organizational or stakeholder needs.
  • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in English to effectively collaborate with multi-cultural stakeholders; French or
    Spanish language proficiency is an asset.
  • Experience in humanitarian, development, social work, public policy, or similar fields is an asset.
