The Movement Cooperation Specialist (Operational Cooperation) contributes to developing and implementing the delegation’s objectives for operations engagement with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (the Movement), specifically with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).

S/he contributes to building positive relationships and strong operational partnership between the ICRC metiers and the PRC services by working closely develop joint or complementary humanitarian actions including the procedures, guidelines, and agreements it entails.

Responsibilities

  • Foster collaboration between ICRC and Philippine Red Cross by developing joint or complementary humanitarian actions.
  • Regularly analyze relevant information to assess the overall operational partnership between ICRC and PRC.
  • Maintain an understanding of reputational risks and potential integrity issues that could affect the engagement between ICRC and PRC.
  • Assist ICRC units in its operational engagement with PRC.
  • Identify gaps in the operational readiness of PRC chapters and propose solutions to ensure effective emergency response.
  • Ensure that ICRC investments in emergency preparedness are coordinated with PRC and other Movement partners’ investments for maximum impact.
  • Support PRC capacity-building efforts that aligns with ICRC operations, ensuring a safe and principled humanitarian response.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for all Movement Cooperation responsible with a geographical remit, ensuring PRC and ICRC approach on operational cooperation are consistent.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Comprehensive understanding of PRC services and ICRC operations is essential.
  • Experience in:
    • National Society development
    • Partnership management
    • Advisory and consultancy
    • Networking and building relationships
    • Project management
  • Good verbal and written English and Filipino communication skills
