150 years of humanitarian action: Photos past and present
2013 was the 150th anniversary of the ICRC. 2014 marked the 150th birthday of the original Geneva Convention. So for the last two years, we've been retracing our history and the history of humanitarian endeavour. At the same time, we've been talking about the challenges that humanitarian action faces today. So here's a series of photo galleries, drawing on archive material and recent images, telling the story of how the needs and the humanitarian response have evolved over the last 150 years.
