Surgical Learning Hub

This evaluation, completed in November 2022, assessed the process of establishing the Surgical Learning Hub in Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The hub provides structured trainings for local, national and international health workers, and integration programmes (onboarding) for ICRC surgical teams.

The evaluation identified the good practices of the pilot, and recommended strengthening the approach for roll out in other countries. This includes recognising that some of the enabling factors for the hub's establishment in Bukavu are not necessarily present in other locations and investment will be needed in building relationships and partnerships.
