The Accounting Manager 1 is in charge of the accounting data produced and/or validated by the department under responsibility, in compliance with internal procedures. S/he acts as a team leader for the department in the field. S/he functionally supports accounting activity in other sub-sites under the main delegation.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to designing and implementing an internal control system that guarantees reliable accounting data at any time. Ensures complete and accurate communication flow.
  • Monitors the annual and monthly closing under responsibility at department level, both in terms of meeting deadlines and ensuring quality of accounting data, with some guidance.
  • Performs or reviews the necessary reconciliation between the module/s under responsibility and the general ledger. 
  • Performs regular integrity checks of account balances. 
  • Identifies anomalies early and takes relevant corrective measures.

Required profile

  • University degree in accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license an asset.
  • At least 6-8 years' work experience in a similar filed of activity in a large company, using integrated accounting system.
  • Previous experience in a non-government or non-profit organization is an asset.
  • Experience in team management
  • Experience in designing and maintaining an internal control system.
  • Knowledge of internal control systems and best practices in financial accounting
