Hungary
In response to the international armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the ICRC scaled up its activities, setting up a regional delegation in Budapest. We work in close collaboration with the Hungarian Red Cross Society to promote the respect of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and reduce the protection risks resulting from the armed conflict.

ICRC Regional Delegation Apr 2022 - Jan 2023
- 13Training sessions conducted with the Red Cross Societies in the region on the Protection of Family Links (PFL) service which helps reconnect separated families.
- 149Cases of missing people collected and managed in support of the Red Cross Societies of Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
- 7Vehicles donated to to assist the Red Cross in the transportation of vulnerable people and emergency supplies.
- 5Sessions hosted on the Safer Access Framework (SAF). These SAF sessions provide staff and volunteers of the Red Cross Societies with the tools to respond safely and effectively in times of crisis.
